MARCHESI ANTINORI WINE BRAMITO DELLA SALA CHARDONNAY 2024 CL.75
Il Bramito della Sala 2024 comes from the vineyards of the ancient Castello della Sala, owned by Antinori. A variety, Chardonnay, which finds in this particular terroir, a soil deriving from fossil sediments with clay infiltrations, an expression of marked minerality and elegance
Bramìto della Sala is a Chardonnay Umbria IGT produced on the Castello della Sala estate, owned by the Antinori family. This white wine is made from carefully selected Chardonnay grapes. The vinification involves fermentation partly in steel and partly in wood, followed by aging in barrique, which gives the wine a complex structure and unmistakable aromas.
Upon arrival at the cellar, the bunches were destemmed and softly pressed. The must with its skins was cooled to 10 °C for a brief maceration of about 2-4 hours to enhance the aromatic and flavor profile of the grapes. Following clarification, which took place in stainless steel vats, the different lots were transferred partly to wood and partly to steel where alcoholic fermentation took place at a controlled temperature of 16-18 °C; only the portion in wood then underwent malolactic fermentation. The wine was then assembled and bottled.
Bramìto della Sala has a bright straw yellow color with golden reflections. On the nose it stands out for its fresh and elegant bouquet: hints of Williams pear, broom flowers and light citrus notes of lime combine with light nuances of toasted hazelnut, fresh butter and brioche bread. On the palate it is harmonious, with a well-balanced structure between freshness and flavor. The finish is long and persistent, with a delicate hint of fresh almond and mineral notes that recall the Umbrian terroir.
The 2024 vintage was characterized by a balanced climate, with a mild winter and normal rainfall, conditions that allowed a good accumulation of water reserves in the soil without excesses or deficiencies. Spring was characterized by temperatures slightly lower than the seasonal average and well-distributed rainfall that favored regular budding. In the months of May and June, moderate rainfall ensured an adequate water supply, supporting the development of the plants, avoiding future stress conditions. The flowering of the Chardonnay took place regularly towards the end of May, followed by uniform fruit set. From the second half of July until August, the climate remained warm, with sunny days and excellent temperature variations between day and night. These conditions allowed a gradual ripening of the grapes, favoring the development of complex aromas and maintaining a good balance between sugars and acidity. The harvest of the Chardonnay for Bramìto della Sala began in the third ten days of August, about a week later than the previous season, and continued until the first week of September.
