It is the most famous dark rum in the world and in the 19th century it was sold in bulk directly from the barrel and its name was simply Blackseal, or black seal, which is now the image on the label. Drinking a pure dark rum is not easy and it is a feat suitable for true connoisseurs, but Blackseal can also be used for the famous grog, the pirate drink, by adding boiling water, lemon zest and cinnamon.
