Description
In the extreme north-east of Italy, not far from Venice and a stone's throw from Cividale del Friuli on the border with Austria and Slovenia, the Altu'ris vines enjoy a unique microclimate. The Julian Alps shelter them from the cold northern winds, while the breezes of the Adriatic soften and mitigate the climate, giving the vineyards exceptional conditions to produce high quality wines. Vinification: The grapes are harvested and vinified separately. The Sauvignon is softly pressed and the must obtained is statically cold decanted. Fermentation and aging in vitrified cement barrels at a controlled temperature. The Merlot is de-stemmed and pressed. The must thus obtained is left to ferment on the skins at a controlled temperature with frequent pumping over. The refinement continues in 2500 liter cherry wood barrels. After blending, the wine is put on the market about a year and a half later. Color: Ruby red. 75 cl glass bottle
