Description
"Fonte alla Selva" is a Chianti Classico of good thickness, aged in wooden barrels for a few months.
Fruity incipit, then floral hints and toasted and spicy flavors in closing.
The taste is intense and consistent, in which the balance between the soft tannins and the pleasant freshness outlines an elegant and pleasant sip
The Banfi winery creates this Chianti Classico "Fonte alla Selva" starting from a blend composed of Sangiovese, to which is added a very small percentage of other red grape varieties authorized by the specification.
The grapes come from over 40 hectares of vineyards located in Castellina, and after harvesting, they ferment by macerating with the skins for about 8-10 days. We then proceed with the refinement phase, carried out for a few months in wooden barrels.
During the spring following the harvest we then proceed with the bottling.
The Chianti Classico "Fonte alla Selva" manifests itself to the eye with a shade that recalls the color of the ruby, intense and not very penetrable.
The bouquet of aromas that is released on the nose tells mainly fruity notes, embellished with spicy touches.
On the palate it is medium-bodied, balanced, with a well-defined sip, in which smooth tannins and a pleasant freshness feed the drink. A well-made bottle, which once again reflects the excellent quality standards that the Banfi winery places on each label.
To be enjoyed as an accompaniment to first courses with structured sauces and with second courses based on grilled or stewed meat.
