This renowned pasta shape comes from a very particular anecdote entirely from Gragnano. At the end of the 19th century, the "urchins" were dedicated to the collection of minuzzaglia (pasta remains that fell during drying in the street). Sometimes someone tried to keep this resulting Pasta for themselves.
