Description

Smoked scamorza is a semi-soft Italian cheese very similar to mozzarella but aged, therefore firmer and drier with a more pronounced flavor.

The smoked variety of Scamorza gets its smoky flavor from exposure to steaming straw for 10-15 minutes.

The traditional pear shape of the whole cheese comes from the process of suspending the cheese with a piece of string.

This product, however, is sliced for convenience and works well with baking or broiling due to its excellent cooking qualities.
