The recipe calls for the boiling, maceration and distillation of 40 aromatic herbs: spices, dried fruit, roots, seeds, barks, citrus peel, rhizomes, flowers and woods from all over the world. The three phases lead to the production of 12 essences, from which the six aromatic notes at the base of Amaro Montenegro are taken. To these six notes is added a last note, called Premio, the result of the micro-distillation of 5 aromatic herbs. Finally, the preparation is mixed with alcohol, water and sugar and bottled.
