Description
Laphroaig 10 Years Old has been distilled the same way for nearly 75 years.
The barley malt is dried over a peat fire, peat that comes exclusively from the island of Islay and which gives Laphroaig its particular flavor. The result is a full-bodied whiskey with a smoky taste and surprising sweetness.
The nose immediately smells of smoke and iodine, with a hint of sweetness.
On the palate it is full-bodied, with a surprising sweetness and hints of salt and peat.
The finish is long and persistent, salty with tarry and iodine notes. John Campbell, the manager of Laphroaig, recommends trying it with the addition of water to discover the exciting kaleidoscope of additional flavors
